| Went out with my girls and our cheerleaders (guy friends who surf WAY better than us) when it was well-overhead in Santa Teresa. We were terrified, so the guys made us paddle in without looking at the waves first - they'd just say, "GO!" and we'd paddle our asses off. I definitely caught the biggest waves of my life that day. And became intimately familiar with the ocean floor... =P | |
| I was going for the last wave of the day, all alone, when I looked back into a wave I was paddling for and saw the outline of at least an eight-foot-long shark. After I got off it and the wave broke, about 3 feet from me, I still had a 100-meter paddle around the reef to get out of the water. |
