Westport Washington: The weather cleared and blue skies opened up for the start of the Global Surf Industries / Surfrider Foundation Cleanwater Classic being held on the South side of the pier in Westport Washington this weekend. Today saw the start of the contest with the GSI Dealer Challenge, the tag team format was an interesting one with all surfers riding various GSI branded boards. One shortboard, 1 mid-length and 1 Longboarder in each team. 11 teams battled it out in conditions that improved throughout the day.

 
Global Surf Industries entered two teams as well in the event that was made up of GSI  President Mark Kelly, Customer Service Manager Garret Wiseth, Operations Manager Mark Horton, PNW Territory Manager Jason Miller, South Point Team Surfer Bonga Perkins and Surfboard Designer Carl Schaper.

 
The event was won by the local Westport store – Steepwater Surf Shop. Congratulations Matt and Danielle and their team.
