Where to surf in Wales? - 2007/09/10 02:43Hey... I´m all new to this.. so I think I need some help..
My plan is to fly out to Wales for a week in Oct, to do some sort of surf-course (as I want to learn properly)...
Where in Wales is the best place to go? As I am going on my own I am thinking it would be nice if it was a cool place - ie with people and things Also - most impotantly - good instructors, and hopefully a good swell...
Help - anyone!?!

Re:Where to surf in Wales? - 2007/09/10 08:27Hey Cooper,
Undoubtedly the best place to surf in Wales is The Gower Peninsula. I hope by your mail you mean Wales UK and not NSW Australia of course!!! There are loads of breaks in a small area that are suitable for all levels of surfer. The surf has been rubbish of late but by Oct it will have picked up for sure.
There are several surf schools operating in the area. I have recently used one to take a group of trainees for morning of team building. They all loved it and are begging me to organise another event.
The local city of Swansea is a great place offering a variety of other sporting activities. It also has a great reputation for nitelife and partying.
Hope this helps, if you want more info email me, glad to help.

Re:Where to surf in Wales? - 2007/09/10 20:01Hey you ... sure I mean the UK! I don´t have time to fly down under for a weeks break (and if I did I would have planned to stay a whole lot longer!)
Thanks for the heads up on the Gower Peninsula. You reckon they run week-long courses out there? What´s the school called?
Thanks again!

The surf school I used have a website www.progressworld.co.uk You can check out prices etc. The surf is starting to get better here now that summer is gone.
