Description:
2 hour paddle out. went through the lagoon to the lineup. got lost in the fog. half mile past the green buoy and 1 mile south of the takeoff zone. picked up by John John Florence's video boat. scary session. Jeff Clark was not pleased - just shook his head in disgust and said, "heavy man...I don't even know how to respond to that one." Swell of the decade. It was pretty stupid to go out alone. That boat saved my ass.

| I'll only go out there on a stand up. The fog is what got me...had a hard time navigating the place. It wasn't crowded at all - six guys in the paddle line up and three tow teams. I did see Ross Clark Jones out there. People were catching some bombs. The Half Moon buoy was reading 17ft. at 17 sec. I didn't think it would be that big though. It's good to be back on land. |

thats nuts, i dont even know how you made it that far! hmb has been sitting in mashed-potatoe fog for the last 3 days. jeff was right, you got lucky. i cant say shit though cause i didnt paddle out, stand-up or not. that took balls dude. |

| Hey Alleycat...I'm just trying to figure the place out and see where the line-ups are. It's too hard to watch from the cliff, even with binoculars. Not being the authority on towing, I think the skis are out there when it's too big to paddle. And Grove St. Local...man...my first trip to Mav's got me a five-day stay at St. John's Medical Center in Santa Monica because of some broken ribs, a vertebrae, collapsed lung, etc. So, I became obsessed with getting out, sans, a trip to the ER. Once I got through that break water it was difficult to turn around. |
