- I read the comments and am bummed by the ideas that you have about Casas. The name of the small point that you called chicken coops was called the Arch. In 1970 the arch fell into the water. All of the people that have been going there for years refer to that spot as the arch. Shipwrecks is Rincon De Baja. The ship went aground about 500 yards off the beach in Febuary of 1982. It took a few good storms to push it up to the beach. The name of the ship was the Isla Del Carmen. I have surf these spots since 1968. After reading the new Sufer Mag March 1968 we were down there the next week and located all of the spots shown in the mag. I met Inez when he was eighteen. Only the four houses were there, and Rincon had one squater in a one room mud house. I have surfed casas hundreds of times and it does get epic. Everone has their own opinion, but the truth of the matter is that you need to know when to hit the place. First it can be decent on a west swell but it has to wrap the point. If it doesn't have a high tide or power the wave won't be worth a shit. The best conditions for casas, is to watch for the hurricanes that develope in the Pacific, push about three hundred miles out before they start to turn north. The hurricane needs to get beyond a line between Casas and Guaro Negro point. Time it to be at casas two days latter. If you just want to camp and get a few fun waves go any time. It could be good or you could get skunked. Big southern hemi's will work there. Casas closes out about 11 to 12 feet. I you're are lucky enough to catch it that way, run down to Rincon. I had one or the best days of my life surfing head high to 2 foot overhead with 600 yard rides that were perfect. Also if you want good conditions for Casas, look at a tide chart and catch the times that there are two high tides, morning and evening with a high/low in the middle of the day (neap tide). I probably won't surf there any more. Me and my bros had the camp on the north side of Richard's Hostel. We had the camp for 22 years. It was really great while it lasted. With them trying to raise the rent to $3,000 a year from $800, it was time to tell the landlord to shove it up his a$$. We had the best times of Casas and a lot of good memories. Too bad it will be a harbor. Thanks for the memories but the beaners can have it now. Oh, we did not pay the last years rent. I also had a great time snaking hundreds of people in the waves, when ever they paddled up five feet on my north side and thought it was their wave. Kooks!!!!!!!!!!

Cuatro Casas - My buddy built the skate pool at the camp. We're taking a trip down there this spring... if anyone tries to jack us, they're gonna get shot in the face.

Cuatros Casas - Was there 10 years or so ago with my buddy Mick Barber. I dug the fact that there was 3 waves there: 1) The inside point(chicken coops) super fun spinning little rights 2) the main point in front of the boat ramp - fun, sectiony rights 3) the tip of the point - hollow, wedge...in & out city!!! We surfed all 3 spots with only 10 other surfers camped in the area. Its kinda spooky at night though, cause you can see car lights approaching for like 45 minutes before they get there because the roads are so bad. You wonder if its bandidos??... great besides the "bandidos" fear.

Its been going on for a while now - These bandidos have been at this for some time. They call the area between Punta Colonet and just past San Quitin as the Red Triangle. Some fisherman were shot years ago just north of Colonet and dozens of car jackings towards San Q. Definitely cops though, they all have the same MO. Black Swat Gear, automatics, come on. Bastards, all of them.

Boycott Baja - Beware! Northern Baja is unsafe! Crime has escalated recently in Baja. Traveling american surfers seem to be a favorite target. Well armed, organized groups of corrupt off duty police are preying on gringos. Robberies, carjackings, kidnappings, rapes and shakedowns. Now they are expanding crime spree to american retirees, sportsfishermen and Baja 1000 enthusiasts. See links-

So long gringa's - Ha ha, we are taking back what is ours. Go home tourists, go home gringos (especially El Gringo). So El Gringa and his boyfriends will have to find another spot to make fun of. They just advanced their level past cockroach surfing. So they think that they are really good and now they can take on a more advanced wave. Hey I know a place, the wave pool and San Dimas. What lamo's.

Yay!! - Yes I am happy that my nemisis El Gringo will never come back! Now every morning as I sit on my pit toilet and look at the empty waves through the hole in the cardboard door, I will dream that one day I will be able the finally stand up and surf Cuatros Casas like a real surfer. But for now I'll just ride this waterlogged boogie board that my cousin the policeman stole from a tourist couple last weekend.
