English (Traducir este texto en Español): BODYBOARDERS AND BODYSURFERS ONLY! most of the time this wave is too hollow and breaks too close to shore for surfers. Spongers rule the spot and it is fairly localized. the left is usually longer than the right and has a longer barrell. with more swell the wave breaks farther outside and gives a littler longer right, with some makeable tubes that dont close out on the sand. speaking of close outs - be careful, several people have died here or have had broken necks...it can be heavy at times, one of the best shorebreaks in california, right up there with 1000 steps and the wedge.

Stop the Hating Everyone! - I'm so freaking tired of bodyboarders and surfers fighting eachother over basically nothing! It is seriously just all hating going on, and I'm so tired of it. Surfing and Bodyboarding are both extremely fun, and both have their pros and cons. I used to surf until I injured my shoulder. Then I had a hard time paddling for long periods of time. So i switched to bodyboarding where I use my legs 95% of the time. And I like it just as much as I did surfing. If everyone could just relax and show eachother respect, everyone would have a much better time. The ocean should be for everyone, and all "wave-riders", whether they are standing, prone, or kneeling, should be able to go out and ride the waves with everyone else.

the post below is right on the money - The guy raking on the Marine St. nad draggers hit the nail right on the head. As if spongers aren't the biggest posers in the water to begin with...
And to whoever compared this place to The Wedge. WRONG. Marine can get good-n-gnarly, but it'll never compare to Wedge. Hell, the shorebreak south of Windansea is pretty much the same as Marine!!!

Everyone is cool when the show each other respect - I was at marine st. the other day and could not believe the little dick kids letting their five foot surfboards go when they would dive under the wave. I let it go a couple times, but when I heard one of them say they were trying to hit us with their boards I lost it. All the bodyboarders at marine street showed these kids up until the life guard threatened to call the cops on us. I cant believe what this place has turned into. Its cool if surfers surf here, but please show respect to everyone and you want to drive the bodyboarders out of here then please go somewhere else. And to those little punk kids who think that they can hit me with their boards it is not over yet!
