English (Traducir este texto en Español): Its a soft wave. On a solid swell go to the 2 jetty off the inlet, the waves bounce off and hurl into a great bodyboarding left. For a long ride go to the 3rd jetty, watch the people. Surf beach is usually jetty 3. JETTY NUMBERS ARE NOT LIFEGUARD CHAIR NUMBERS!!!! Jetty 1 is jetty separating inlet from beach, 2nd jetty is one down to the left of that ect.
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): Beautiful, on a sunny day and horrific in the rain or fog. It all varies on the waves, wind, temp. and tide. When going out use your judgement on where and how its breaks, its always changing!!
General
English (Traducir este texto en Español): I think its a great spot when the surf picks up. It rarely does so don't go expecting anything special. When its gets good use the jetty's to your advantage. They have a food stand in the summer which is always useful. In the winter its a ghost town.

avon stinks 2 - I agree with this guy.I have tried to surf there on a number of occasions and have had nothing but hassles. It is easy to park but expect people to mess with your car.The waves here just aren't worth the hassle. It is just as easy to go to Spring Lake where outsiders are treated nicely and is only a mile or two down the road. The Asbury gang members who have started frequenting the beach are quite intimidating.Years ago I would go there with my family, not anymore.

Sick day 11/10/06 - It was out of control, about chest to head high+ waves comin in and corraling off the jetty. It was crowded, about 8 guys within 1 block but once you got priority the waves were great. REALL long lines. Once you got up on the waves you could ride them for a good 75-100 yards down the beach. It was real fun and real clean, definatly a fun day for all the guys who got out.
