Impossibles Possible - you need a good swell and 2 hrs -4hrs after low tide ..then you can get waves that are makeable all the way .At all other times its hard if not Impossible to make the sections .

Florida has better waves - Why do you think Kelly Slaytor rules surfing? You wish you were an Aussie? No you don't. You wish you were a Floridian. When I go there I'm going to punt a 15 foot air over all of you aussies on my McCoy Nugget surfboard to make the impossible sections and you will shit in your pants and Taj Burrows will beg me for my autograph. Face it. Aussies can never beat Americanos in surfing. We have the pizzaz. Viva los seppos!!!

europommywierdo - i witnessed some incredible surfing out there some time ago now. as i recall they were a bunch of aussie surfers i think they were from west. They were executing big manouvers in the most critical parts of the wave, and i have to say it wasn't the usual two to three foot rubish that myself and all my euro trash buddies love to grovell in! Being a usless homo pommy git, i love to travel, and i have witnessed a lot of surfing going down.... now those brazos, seppos and hawaian lads know what they are doing.. But the aussie lads take the cake... they fuckin charge! I wish i was an ozzie. congrats mick 1... and good luck to the boys for 2010!

Bubble - This is a super fast wave, and you need to be good at finding speed in a wave and racing sections. I saw one local guy catch a wave from the take off point up near Padang, right down towards Bingin. If you are really good you might even be able to get some fast turns in but for most people it is just a straight down the line race. It does section a bit when it is smaller

swell matters - i would only surf here if the swell was up, if it is under 4ft it is not worth it as the waves are 'impossible' to make. they seem alright at the start but close out fairly quickly. if the swell is big however it will wall up creating long fun rides.

its a good wave - i spent 2 months in bali and had so many memorably setions in this place. got a perfect 8 feet day on low tide where could up to 4 waves onn the same set. sick

can be impossible - yeah i agree with some of the posts... this waves is awesome when it's big.. scored it 8 to 10 on the high tide and the thing walled up for about 250m... as the tide dropped it started to get so hollow on the inside section, totally KO'd my board on the reef, staying in the barrel for too long... on the smaller swells it gets very sectiony and it's hard to make the sections, you have to work for your wave, but if it's big and offshore you'll score the racetrack of your life... awesome spot, beautiful scenery.

Challenging wave for Kooks - This wave kicks ass when there is big swell. It doesn't need to be a perfect direction, just big. I have surfed here since I was a little kid. It isn't the best wave in Bali, but it is a fun wave. If you can't pump fast, and don't know how to make a section (i.e. you are a total barney), I can see how it can get frustrating. All I know is that I have gotten the longest, deepest pits ever out there.
