Accomadation - Sumba - I'm struggling to find budget accommodation on the west/south west of this island, i know home stay is an option, but need a couple of days to settle in initially. some help would be appreciated.

sumba - just spent some time in sumba and did go to nihiwatu,besides the politics of claude and co,the wave is too good not to sample.insane.

Nihiwatu - Sketchy Int'l. Finance Types Involved - Check out the shady characters on Sumba Foundation Board - and their "Economic Hit Man" profiles. Their foundation is clearly a land takeover attempt, probably involving questionable international financial transactions and corruption. Some wealthy people are scratching each others' backs on these dealings. By the way, I don't think Indonesia has an extradition treaty with the western countries . . .

nihiwatu - Some heavy stuff about Nihiwatu Resort. Pak Aldo's post can't be good for public relations. I would have to agree with the boycot suggestion. Not that I'd use these booking companies anyway. Having exclusive surfing rights at Nihiwatu sets a dangerous precident in Indonesia. Mr. Graves would have the public think that he is Mother Theresa.

Bapak Metebulo - I hope that is not true that Bapak Metebulo was assassinated. I stayed in his village 5 years ago, and managed to surf Nihinwatu, with some people who stayed at the resort and didn't mind that we surfed with them....But didn't meet that mister Claude....
