There IS surf in the Bahamas - That's where I learned to surf. Of course, back in the 1970's the weather was colder, and the cold fronts would hold out longer and kick up pretty good north swell. Nassau is surfable a couple of days a year, although when I was a kid we went surfing all the time, it seems. Or course, Abaco and Eleuthera can get really good. When people say it's not worth it, well, then all the better for those of us who are willing to give it a go.

It's not Indo or Hawaii. It depends on what your are used to. The water is clearer, however, than just about anywhere else. Do it.

Bahamas Air - I read on a couple sites that Bahamas Air will not fly surfboards as of 9/2008. When I spoke to a Customer Service agent, she said they did fly surfboards but it took me a while to exlpain to her what a surfboard was. Anybody have any info?

Man Island surf - My girlfriend is considering spending some time at Harbour Island this Jan.and Feb. so I am wondering if anyone as info on closest breaks. I have been to Eleuthera and loved the place. We surfed small sloppy conditions at Surfer's Bch, but had a great time exploring the island. I was hoping for closer spots. How hard is t to get to Man Island surf?

jan-feb - Staying at abaco inn for a few weeks, renting a nice little runabout, kinda like mine, a 17 foot whaler. warm water, clear, and some fun waves probably. But like all surf trips, keep expectations low, and ya never know, you may score!

Im building a house on cat island for my family and have been trying to find good surfing. Are you on the island. If you email you I will tell you of the one spot that I heard can get good. My email is williamhazen@gmail.com

Bahamas surf - I'm moving to the Bahamas, just in time for the hurricane season. I'm wondering if there is any surfers that live on that small island called new providence? I don't think there is much surf there, but any one have any good, cheap ideas how to get to eluethera, im propobly gonne want to make lots of trips there.

Waves on Cat Island? - I've surfed Eleuthera a couple times and am wondering about the surf on Cat to the south. It has the same exposure and I know it gets swell; but are the set-ups good? Is it priced in line with Eleuthera or less expensive because of less toursim? Any info is appreciated.

forget bahamas surfing - I live in Florida and go to Bahamas frequently. Don't let anyone kid you. Surfing is only good at times during hurricane season, and when that happens, I just stay home and take advantage of the Florida surf. Not worth bringing boards....
