playa negra - The beach and town are radical. The surf can get really fun in the late winter early spring. Surfed the left off big boys w/ my buddy head high+ for like 3 days straight. Super fast super dank. Also if its small drive south and you can score something.

Nice Place - Stayed in Cahuita for 2 weeks and had a blast. When the swells are coming in the surf is good but it does close out fairly fast. I prefered Playa Negro to Playa Blanco just because it's free and not as many tourists use it.

cahuita rip off - Cahuita surf sucks i ve passed it 3 times in 3 years and never saw decent surf it needs at least a 19 feet swell and will probably 70 percent closeout then. The town is full of gringos the Locals just act as decoration and are hanging round in the streets bothering you for cigarettes and shitty weed, i get better stuff at home. Its expensive I paid 8 $ for a crappy fish n chips plate white beach is nice national park area as well but dont bother to snorkel in the reef the corals are all dead, from the pesticides they sprayed in the Banana plantations, though i met a lonely 2 mtr reef shark looking for food
dont buy chiquita bananas
better organic products.
Nice basic place to stay is back packers paradise 7 $ p.P.
I m off to Bocas del toro for new years Bluff beach has hopefully the size that I want

ROCKS - This spot rockzz
I was here for a few days in 2005 and surfed it. Good waves, tubey and 6 ft. Locals are easy going ( there is no crowd) and Cahuita town is one rastafari chill-resort :P

Saw some potential - I stayed in Cahuita for 2 weeks and it was sloppy at this break day in and day out while it was awesome at Cahuita's white beach. There was potential for sure, saw some dudes trying to surf it but the peaks were all random mish mashed about.Granted I know the Caribbean is fickle.

black ..blah - No no Black Beach is trashy ... there is trash all over. It reaks... as in smells bad .. and has no real surf .. The black sand is the unique thing about it ...

Surfers ride for sell - I have been all over Costa Rica in this thing. and done a lot of work on it along the way. Moving back to the States in April and need to sell. We are based out of Santa Teresa on the Necoya Peninsula. The True Black Beach - the waves are ok, very easy to get ur surf on for the new riders, hot chicks everywhere at this beach ;)
