s'nice - Have just spent a lovely week in this area. We were actually based in Loredo but surfed somewhere between there and Somo. Had a super time. For most of the week we were blessed with off shore winds and beautiful sunshine, what more can a girl want? and it was warm enough to surf without a wetsuit, lush!

If you are heading to this area then it's definately worth checking Somo/Loredo out. The beaches weren't crouded during the week and everyone I met in the sea had a smile on their face, no snarling locals just friendly ones! Yea xxx

Nice beach - Nice beach , with warm water in a summer. The surf is ok , but not comparable to Rodiles , one hour west. Nice views , but not as consistent as Galicia ( Ferrol region ) , and Peniche ( Portugal). Still not as crowded
worth a 2 day visit , more that that is kind of boring

warning when the sea is big!! - Somo is the first place you don´t have to go when the sea is too big. You can feel the whole power of the Cantábrico in your bones.

surf in somo, summer 2004 - THE WAVES IN SOMO ARE QUITE HIGH, BUT BREAK FAST. IF YOU THINK ABOUT TRYING TO SURF, JUST RENT A BOARD AT THE CANTABRIAN SURF SCHOOL, JUST NEAR THE BEACH; THEY RENT BOARDS FOR ALL KIND OF BOARDERS...

che roba ragazzi... - salve a tutti sono Riccardo, 14 anni,scusate se scrivo in italiano ma non mastico molto bene l'inglese... sono ancora un neofita sulla tavola ma con una grande passione dentro... finalmente sull'oceano! il viaggio in cantabria è stato il mio primo viaggio sull'oceano atlantico ed è stata un esperienza elettrizzante. ho trovato questo spot semplicemente fantastico per me abituato alle poco potenti onde del mediterraneo (vivo in liguria, pensa te...) vi consiglio di provare questo spot. provate soprattutto quando c'è alta marea (mattina presto - sera verso le sette, e non vi preoccupate d'estate fa buio alle 10:30 di sera!)(l'escursione è SPAVENTOSA) perchè se no bisogna farsi duecento metri prima di arrivare alla riva. poi meettetevi la muta lunga (fa un freddo bestiale). stay wet! by Inghiboom

Muy buena playa - yo aprendí a surfear aquí y es uno de mis spots preferidos además de Liencres.
Por otra parte, cuando hay mar fuerte no es una ola nada divertida, puede llegar a ser terrorífica.
