English (Traducir este texto en Español): Watch out getting in and out on high tide, and getting up and down the "stairs". Other than that, Pleasure is one of norcal's best breaks with a perfect wave for just about every kind of surfer. And 320 days of the year, this wave is breaking, and is good. Oh yeah, Getting in and out on a low tide can be horrible. There is a 100 foot walk out to the break through thick kelp, holes in the reef, sea urchins, random rocks, reef shelfs... For example; "the walk out won't be that bad. The surface of the water is flat, and I don't see any holes." but before you know it, you'll be dropped from ankle deep water, to chest deep water. With a twisted ankle and a dinged board. And the best part is; it's totally worth it!
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): Unless you suck, or you grab it on a super crowded weekend, It's sick!
General
English (Traducir este texto en Español): Most people when they think of Santa Cruz, they think of steamers lane, well, the point can get just as good or even better, and should deserve more recognition! But at the same time... -locals- "all the more for us!"

My go to bay area spot but be patient with crowds - I live about 45 minutes away but surf this wave the most in california. The wave quality on a solid south or Northwest on the right tide is obviously world class, but its super tide dependent and insanely crowded.
Locals are assholes if you cant surf and get in the way. For everyone that respects right of way its a friendly spot. But being in the right place and actually catching waves requires many many sessions and a lot of patience. For tourists dont even try surfing here on weekends or when schools out if youre not local or you probably wont catch anything due to crowds. The locals are mostly congenial but they know exactly how to deal with currents and crowds and be in the right spot to catch waves.
