fair enough - thanks for the response full-blown mexi lover. That is pretty much what I was hoping to hear. Would you say living near the beach in Oxnard is more affordable than other southern cal beach cities? Not that I`d choose another city- seems like Oxnard and VTA county have the best surf around. At least that`s what I hear.

Oxnard goes a little something like this... - It all depends on where in Oxnard you live. The city is notorious for Mexicans being the majority. Oxnard High School has got to be 70% Mexi. If you move to Oxnard shores or strand, you got good surf, descent people, and affordable living. If your not moving near the beach. Don't move here. Just my thoughts.

what`s oxnard like? - I`m from Eureka, but I currently live in Mexico with my wife and son (1 year old), who are both from here. I`m thinking about coming back to California (after being here for 6 years) to look for work as a teacher. After a few months I`d like to have my family there too. From my limited internet investigations, Oxnard seems like what we`re looking for. What is it really like there?

Its all about ventura - I've surfed for over 25 years and to tell all you surfersout there the truth, nowhere beats ventura. It has the most consistant surf in cali on top of which some of the best surf in the world.Where else in california can you find epic beach breaks and point breaks all with in 20 miles of each other and thats plural(silver strand, hollywood beach, heaters, oxnard shores,rivermouth,dredge,c-street,emma wood, faria,la conchita, rincon, sand spit, hueneme and for anyone lucky enough with a cousin in the military ,the base.To top it off, how many pros have come out of ventura? Tom,Evan,Chris Dan and Keith,Timmy Nathan and Josh,Chris Brown,Bobby,Sean,Dane and countless others that on a daily basis I can surf with or watch them shred our perfect waves. So if you come out here to surf don't stay too long cuz you'll want to move here.

Southern California - Hi me and my family are going to travel around Southern California... I am an advanced surfer and was wondering whether any one could give me some info on where there will be fun waves to surf... I am coming over on March 1st staying untill March 23rd. We live in spain (Fuerteventura) so I am used to some pretty heavy waves, but I am just looking for some fun barreling waves to surf whilst traveling around South Cali.

Magoo a joke - Pussies, magoo is a full trick, if you drive that far to begin with, try county line. Non-localized and it fires almost all the time. Though I do hear magoo gets fun on those super NNW swells. Not worth joining for thought. The brigade runs this coast, strand, hueneme and hollywood kooks make way, tuck your manhood in. That style may have worked in the 80s, but not anymore, we will beat you down. A-Town rules the gold coast now.
