i miss this special place - hello people, i want to say i miss sidi ifni. i have been there 4 times now over the last 15 years. this village is beautiful, the people who live there are special. they are really good people. i have been to other places, but i miss the nice people of sidi ifni. special greatings to abdullah, brahim and ishaim. as i have heard, mustafa, the pompier is in layoune now. go to the hammam with the old woman, just near the spanish stairs, this is local tradition. sidi ifni, i miss you. i've heard some kiwi guy named jiah, i know, visited you this year. i am jealous. for the surfers: go other places, leave the locals alone down there. for other visitors, i suggest to go there, it's really beautiful. respect to the beautiful people of sidi ifni. tim

BEWARE THE "SURF TAXI"! - Just got back from there, waves were fun though the water quality can be a bit suspect. I'm writing this blog to warn other surfers to watch out for aFrench guy named John/Jonathon and his "Surf Taxi". (see the guy crouching on the landrover in photo) This guy is a geniune con man. He owes money all over town. After seeing his very professional looking website (which exists on his laptop but not actually online) we signed up for his "desert point trip" which was an absolute farce as soon as he'd milked most of the money off us to pay his debts. We ended up taking one of his longboards and selling it in the surfshop to recover some of the money he owed us. BE WARNED! Very dishonest.

Worth the long drive - Sorry to say that I was only once at Sidi Ifni and it was just a daytrip. It was worth the 3 hours down (+3 back) from Agadir. Great coastline, relaxed town and a powerful 2.5m right along the reef. It's a must-do when visiting south Morocco.

end of the world - i had been there for 3 month a couple of years ago. i have made friends, got to know a lot about the culture and the people. it is so different and so inspiring. i went back for 1 week in jan. 06. sidi ifni is cool, laid back...if you are just going for waves, there is better places. if you are going for an expirience, combined with surfing average waves, you must go there and say hello.timon.

Sidi Ifni rules! - In the beginning of march we headed south just to see what its like there. Stopped in Sidi Ifni and it was great. No "Shitty Ifni", just a powerful right and a few friendly & relaxed locals. So we stayed there for five days.. and we'll come back!

Consistent waves - I scored Sidi in December 2004. After the crowds of Thagazoute this really was a nice place to come to. I surfed this long right by myself most of the days. Swell was on and it was pretty hard to get out in the first place. When out though, I can only confirm the other messages here: Water quality is definitely not at its best. I got sick for a couple of days and I am sure it was the water. Considering all those juicy rights I had to myself I feel that this was only fair. Don't miss it. The wave in the harbour is on as well, once a bit of size coming through. The guards in the port will let you enter.
