English (Traducir este texto en Español): Very Sharky - Same as sharks Alley Sand Banks. When you see the big pile of rocks which have been blown up(unmissable) the reef is directly in front. There is no channel really, so you should paddle out to the side of the wave over the sand banks to avoid the reef. Ground swells with morning breezes in winter are best, from 2-6ft. Take off deep on the reef pump twice if you have time and keep tight to the face. Lots of blow outs every day. Barrels for about 20-30 metres. Unsurfable on full low tides. When you cut yourself leave the water immediately!
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): Heavy reef, same as cave, but cave cooks on lower tides while this reef works on higher tides. The reef is covered in sponge which can save you from serious injury.
General
English (Traducir este texto en Español): A top class reef break, on its day easily as good as cave. Watch out for sharks.

Play safe - As an ex Durbanite(now in UK),i spent most of my life doing 2 things. If the surf was good I was in the water. If not I was fishing.I've spent thousands of hours at Sharks alley but i've never put a board in the water(first time i fished there i caught 3 BIG hammerhead sharks which kinda puts you off surfing there.)We often used to marvel at how good the surf was(even when small its very powerful and can get very hollow but usually a strong current)I left in 2000 but even then it was was of the best spots to catch big johnnys.I'm not trying to put surfers off but it would have to be really good to take the risk, not a sunrise surf spot.Peace and take care
