English (Traducir este texto en Español): Take off deep with a longer board... 6ft 9 and over (even at 5ft)... It's a fast wave that sections; therefore the length of rail and planshape comes in handy... Dont wipeout on low tide!!!
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): Very exposed to ocean swells, thus fickle and can make the swell lumpy when it jacks over the reef... Although with the right wind, tides, etc... Can be magic... Seemingly a very consistent locations due to the fact that it catches a lot of swell... (more so than telescopes)... During the peak season (if the wind patterns permitted) the place could be surfed almost every day.
General
English (Traducir este texto en Español): A fast powerful and walling wave that sections all the way... You can get tubed, smash the lip, float, cutback... This wave has it all. Surfs better with a longer board... Not as thick as thunders, but<br />Still quite powerful with pretty critical takeoffs... Can get very shallow.

Very good but crowded - Scarecrows gets very crowded with boats these days, just like everywhere else in the Mentawais, but it handles the crowds not too bad because you get wide sets and the main peak shifts a bit. Some waves barrel nicely, others shut down-its a lottery-but its a damn good wave nevertheless, with everything on offer-walls, barrels, faces, big cutbacks etc. When its bigger you can pick up inside barrels that can be better than the outside. Breaks over about 150m when bigger, and works on any tide, dead low is gnarly. Probably best at 4-8 feet.

read me - this wave is alright, but more of an overflow spot like. Come here when there are no people, and get whatever wave you want...want to find a new break, i know the place, email me and let's make it happen. This is no joke, name your time, place and price...

great wave - Surfed it May 06. Had it about head high, and the swell was a little bit lumpy, but even then it was sick. Had every thing from barrels to nice wackable sections, and ran off for about 150-200m.
