North Straddie crowds similar to Goldie - I have been surfing straddie for a long time. I dont even both during weekends and holiday periods. Mainlanders come over in droves and the vibe totally changes; lack of etiquete, no respect, all-for-me attitude. Time to pull up stumps. Sad part is that NSI (no surf island) is not even that great a spot.

straddled locals - yeh the locals are all ex brissos and they always whinge about brissos even though their family too at some point in time came from the mainland. now they whinge about development even though they are partly responsible for it. its funny to hear them carry on about it but they should see the master plan for point lookout it looks like the goldy. so in less than 10 years they will probably all be pushed out of their dwellings and bought out by investors. just look at the new pub at cylinders and all the massive houses on the hil at mains...thats just the start. the locals are definitely not "unbeatable".

strad - i go to straddie about 5-10 times a year and i have never had a problem with the locals, infact on a big day at cylinder i was hooted when i was dropping into wave of the day by some of the older members of the local crew. I never think about sharks... im glad people dont like NSI.. jokes on them.
