English (Traducir este texto en Español): this is proberbly the most surfed spot by the locals in the area so you will never get it good and empty unless there's a shark in the water and no one's told you!
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): It's good to watch the break for a while if it's sizey because you will see a few wipeouts as the take off is a steep quick one and the reef is a shallow sharp one.
General
English (Traducir este texto en Español): The bigger it gets the the better it gets, just try not to think to much about what's below the dark water water your sitting in and concentrate on barrels you want to get in.

- Surfing yorkes in the 70s was a lot of search and discovery,we found waves that arent even marked ore named back then, all dirt tracks made it even more remote, but the real essence of surfing was alive, the ranger helped us find out of the way places with no one around, single fins and old wet suits, baked beans and west end, yorkes was and still is one of aussies wild spots, but when all the conditions come together it is one of the worlds best surfing regions

Overrated! - Chinamans is by far the most overrated wave in SA. Sure it gets good but realistically this doesn't happen more than about six times a year. Needs to be big and low-tide otherwise it is pretty damn fat most of the time. You will hear a lot of crap about "world class" and all that. Anyone who reckons Chi's is world class needs to travel more. A world class left is Pipe, Cloudbreak, G-Land etc, and Chinamans is absolutely NOTHING like that!

sa's dodgy waves - funny all this local vs east/adelaide crew. the locals are alright they just living in the 80s when people would take turns regardless of ability, now its crowded it doesnt really work, they are all abit grumpy cos they live in a windy shithole with no women, good pubs etc. waiting for fickle b grade waves and smartass eastcoasters come on rare good days and snake all the waves. some of this site's star ratings are a bit off 5 stars for a fickle close out beachie like ethels? and 3 stars for berry bay (is that even a wave?). to all the boogers (locals included) lids r 4 kids, boogers have a complex cos they cant stand up and so they should.
