Plenty to go around - I'm a bodyboarder and i'm from Melbourne, so I couldn't be lower in the pecking order when it comes to surfing a place like this, but Bird Rock is probably my favourite break and the ten or so times i've surfed it, i've never had a bad session. I always sit back from the local crew a bit and let them have the best of it... and I take the scraps, which often turn out to be great anyway. A few times, locals have had a chat and encouraged me to come take off from the sweet spot. Other times, they've been too busy battling amongst themselves to bother trying to get amongst it. But because that take-off spot can be so small, only a limited amount of guys can really fit out there so there always seems to be a limit to how big the crowd will get, which means there's usually plenty to go around. Anyone complaining about crowds out here should be thankful it's not the Gold Coast or somewhere shitful like that. I don't really know what my point is here, but I love this spot and will continue to surf it as a respectful surfer who knows my place... and hopefull that means I will continue to get barreled.

- Small take off spot. Can't handle a crowd. Locals always snaffle the best waves. It is a great wave and I have had a few good sessions out here but I often find its not worth it if your from out of town. The crowd often gets heated out here too.
