English (Traducir este texto en Español): it only really works off cyclone/storm swell, and then it gets pretty fun. only gets 2-3 weeks of solid surf a year, but depends on how big the cyclones get. will sometimes get small, clean 1-1.5ft peeling waves during the 'dry' season which can be fun after being totally flat for 2-4 weeks straight. best suited for long boards when it's small however there's a decent mix of shortboards, mals and bodyboards (plus ther local kneelo) when the surf's up.
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): it's very hot from December to February (35-38 degrees + high humidity). some stingers. this is the best time for waves too so make sure you wear a long sleeve rashie and if you're really worried then cover your legs with some stockings. plenty of waves to find, tidal range in this region is ten metres........honestly!!!!!!! April to September is tourist season .no much surf but sometimes in August we get some small winter swell from down south with cool offshore winds.
General
English (Traducir este texto en Español): its great, but you gotta wait for a cyclone. don't travel up here for waves, you really have to be a local and be super keen to be able to get a wave. also don't be afraid to look around there's lots of beaches which will break differently depending on the swell and wind direction. there's always a bit of a crowd at Cable Beach however if you go up the beach you'll have it all to yourself! just watch out if you drive your car on the beach as a few people lose their car to the fast tides each year (mainly tourists).

Only breaks for one week.. but when it does..! - A good mate of mine lives up here he said that he went along to Gantheaume Point beach on a big cyclone swell when everywhere else was messy and awful. At Gantheaume Point beach it was clean 4ft and breaking for around 300-400m from the point all the way into the beach with only 4 other blokes out. Never seen it like this in 10 years so it was an amazing experience surfing here.

well... - yeah, well.. I think it's a supreme, fabulous beach for just chillin out watching the sunset and swimming... I guess it's not a class for surfing.. anyway, this was a fabulous place and my dream until they built all these millionaire-shit villas.. so now there are thousands of dumbie tourists, the beach gets crowded plus those villas with stupid jet-set people from the city. not worth going there anymore. ciao

not bad... but not great! - Ok I'm not to sure what that guy was smokin... It's not as good as he says it is but it's not that bad. Nice fun fast little beachies. It's better in the wet because we get more cyclone swell and some big walls come through. It's not much but it's better than no waves at all...
