English (Traducir este texto en Español): Only waves with a big NE swell. Usually only when N storm wind is blowing onshore. Unusual to get Offshore wind while there is swell. Big long sandy beach with bigger waves at the southern end. There is a rock reef at the north end which works at high tide providing hollow lefts.

English (Traducir este texto en Español): Great for windsurfing in the storms, but not so hot for surfing in onshore mess. Popular spot for surfing onshore days.If the wind is northeast, Milford is a better bet.
General

Not all bad - It hardly ever breaks, but when it does it is a classic. Steep chucking left that barrels and a wally workable right. If you disagree, then you've never scored it and you'll have to watch the swell a bit better. Great just before high tide when the swell is pushing into Rangitoto channel. Scored at 5 foot during last Febs troppy, there was also a great left between the carpark and o'neills.

- The only time taka breaks is when someones septic tank overflows causing a outgoing wave before that was when Rangitoto erupted

- has anyone read the comment's for "tamaki reef"?it's obviously a hoax but there little forum going is an absoulute crack up!
