English (Traducir este texto en Español): This is a partial point, partial beach break, that can break for a good distance. When small tends to be rather soft, better on a 4ft plus day.there is a sand bar and a secret slab but is a extremly long walk to get to or a boat ride.
There are some good barrels produced if you get it right.
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): Very nice but isolated beach. Quite remote, guaranteed to be uncrowded. Also close by to the beautiful Waitomo region with its caves and rock formations. There is also a beach and river bar at marakopa village, very friendly people.
General
English (Traducir este texto en Español): good wave, always deserted in one of the remotest spots on the west coast. Would like to surf it on a bigger day.I have a batch at marokopa surf it all the time but if your not a local or you dont no a local you sort of need to know where the good spots are.haha

to our disagreeing friend - Did you ever stop to think that perhaps when people say bad things about waves they are trying to keep the crowds down? But im sure you want your "mean barreling heavy waves" with lots of friends out

BARRELS HA HA - I been to kiri point a bit, not many barrels, a few head dips would be about all. Definitly not for pro or kimakazis, haha who writes this crap. My wife can even paddle out here. Nice place - Crap wave. Dont post crap unless you can stand up!!!

tronside - as with most spots on this coast between port waikato and here the ones with somewhere to park your car are usually pretty average so park your car look north look south there are hell waves to be had in the king country if you can be arsed to look beyond the carpark and do some walking (ask the landowners first tho)
