English (Traducir este texto en Español): Take off behind the peak and pull in...
Right: Short, Hollow, and powerful. Watch out for the pinch section on the end, and the giant brain coral that sticks up!
Left: Super hollow, fast wave that breaks on to the reef... no channel. On a good day it can get super long (100m+).
The water is so clear here that you can be sitting in 10m of water and feel like the reef is right below you. The reef is deeper than it looks!
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): Book for a week or two at Aganoa Beach Fales surf camp. This camp is run by Keith and Lanu Martin and their family.
Family run surf camp in an amazingly beautiful cove. Keith or one of his guides run daily trips (by car and boat) to the best spots on Savai'i for the day.
Awesome people, amazing food, and an epic view straight at the right and left at Aganoa.
General

Aganoa - I don't think this wave is pro or kamikaze level. Surf it mid to high tide and you should be ok. The right is difficult and at times closes out. If you get a left get off it and paddle back early before you get caught by the next. Both are fun. I'm no hell man and I had fun here. Most of the people are nice here too. The wave is fun and most i surfed with was 4 or 5. Enjoy

Aganoa Savaii - This break has a great set up! The camp is about 5 meters from the water and the right hander is a short powerful barrel. I was there for 5 nights and we every morning and afternoon you could surf on the high tide and it was perfect. I was out surfing when the tsunami hit and the camp was hardly touched. We were able to continue our holiday and the waves continued to roll in. There was neevr more than 3 of us in the water but i think lots of people cancelled their holiday thinking it had been affected byt the tsunami.

Aganoa-Savaii - Yeah i agree with Trader Jim. This wave is very surfable if you are talking about the wave in front of the resort that breaks right. Its known as "Grazed Knees" because of a big coral mushroom at the end of the wave which gives you a bit of a scare first time you get near it cause its blue. You can be surfing 2ft waves and then a 5ft two wave set comes through. The left futher down can be nasty. Don't straighten out whatever you do or you'll end up in coral hell. Watch for the mutant waves that break west and out to sea. Also on the north of this island in february near Fagamolo. Only breaks for 3 months, but is an awesome down the line wave. Watch out for the breaks near them, some of them look rideable, but are NOT. Mutant tides and nasty finger-coral abounds.
