English (Traducir este texto en Español): Not much current but as with all beach breaks it may take some time to reach the line up.
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): Nice beach with a consistent wave. Many surf camps have opened here in recent years, so there are lots of beginners in the water. Expect pretty heavy crowds during dry season and June/July.
General
English (Traducir este texto en Español): nosara is a fun wave but the town is unsafe. Can't leave your car at the beach unless there is a guard there watching it. Got robbed by a guy named diego outside the blew dog last wednesday. The people with vacation homes are also being robbed. Sc... this place. let the criminals have it to themselves. there are way better breaks with a better vibe in the area.

just got back... - Nosara/Playa Guiones is a good spot for a surf getaway HOWEVER do expect to lock up your valuables (duh), don't expect empty lineups, don't expect great waves (maybe it was an off week but I would rate the waves no better than mediocre/inconsistant: closeouts), expect pushy surf schools invading your space (one young buck paddled up near me and invited his students "into this empty area", douce!). On the plus side, it's definintely got the surfing vibe, board rentals are cheap and surf shops (real ones, not poser-clothing shops) are bountiful, beer and food are cheap. Accomodations vary but tend toward the more expensive. The hostel was across the street and a bit noisy at night but looked clean and well run. Pura Vida!!

Crowds - Guiones/Nosara is a great spot, but don't be fooled by people saying there are only 3 or 4 surfers out. Crowds have grown exponentially here in recent years. Sure there are several peaks and people are spread out, but expect to be dropped in on and crowded conditions in Dry season and June/July, especially during holidays.

Nosara - Its funny how negative people can be about such a wonderful place! Especially when they sign Anonymous!! The is a little theft, but only if you leave stuff on view in the car or on the beach. The locals are generally very friendly, the break can be "Crowded" really depends on your definition I guess but when you've surfed at breaks and had to hussle to get waves then Nosara very quiet indeed, especially if you like early mornings or sunset surfs. Waves, well like anywhere they can be good, but then they can be bad....generally though its a consistent break with a nice clean beach break that never drops below 2-3 foot even on flat days. Checkout the surfing nosara website for daily reports and pictures.
