Just have a look at a spot called Pen had, on this very website :look right instead of left and you will see the cliff below which lies Porzh neil.Park the car on the last right-side parking lot, walk to the edge of the cliff looking for a little (very little) path going down and that's it.>This is a DANGEROUS ACCESS ! The path is made of sliding clay (when it rains) and there are holes; you'll have to overcome by using the existing rope, placed there by locals, all this with your board in your hands. The best way -maybe- to avoid a big fall is to tie your own rope and let your gear go down from the top of the cliff.Go down ONE BY ONE to avoid bringing anybody else with you if you (or them) fall.Once you've made it successfully, you still have to deal with the shorebreak (on rock bottom)...Place your back at the end of the access path, look right : there is a hole in the reef that is the entry/exit.LOOK BEFORE YOU GO.

 Información adicional

This spot is placed on the opposite side of the usual swells and this is why you need a BIG swell to make waves turn around the Touliguet point. In order to break on that spot, the swell outsidfe porz Naye bay must be indeed huge (i.e. 3.5 to 4.0 m minimum while all the other spots around camaret are saturated at that time). But in the bay itself, the biggest waves are 2.0m. Below 1.0 to 1.5m waves in the bay, water is really too shallow for a good surf session.Porzh neil is breton language and it means secondth harbour. XIXnth century's fisherman came here to shelter from gales. It means you can also get there by boat from the harbours of Camaret or Brest. DO NOT ANCHOR !!The ground is a reef of rocks and your anchor could stay down when you want it to come up...Also, in the surf zone, it is ONLY SHALLOW WATERS.Bringing and WEARING A HELMET would be a good idea, especially if it's your first time here.Maybe it would also be a good idea to wear it when you walk down the path (get there, you'll see why).In any case, make sure you surf at high tide or very end of rising tide (otherwise, say bye-bye to your fins and maybe your feets !).

Ambiente

Confirmed-surfers only makes the place cool to surf, even if the surf in itself can get serious, particularily because of the shallow waters. If you are caugt inside, DO NOT DUCK DIVE : just let it happen and wait for the end of the set. It's O.K because, anyway, if you feel tired, just stand up to see how deep it is : foot deep or waist deep...See what i mean when i say shallow ?

General

This place of Porzh neil is able to hold up the biggests swells around. In fact, it begins to break with a 3 to 3.5 meters one, and nobody can tell you when it closes up.Of course, it's not Peahi but sure you can bring the gun.BONUS : after your session (here or at the other side, at Pen had) take the car to the harbour of Camaret and look for a pub called La Marine. Seat confortably and order the best hot chocolate in the world.BONUS BONUS: take the car (again) and get to a point called the "Tas de Pois".Once you've been there, life will be more beautiful.

Good vibes - I love Brittany and the people there. I used to spend most of the winters in Camaret as a perfect hangout to explore the surf in this area. Not this year as I moved further North from Holland to Denmark. I miss Bretagne this winter. I miss the surf, the atmosphere, the damn shouting local and the rope that is always gone after a good session. I miss it all. I will always remember the good guys in the water, those friendly surfers with a smile, those explorers and real locals to share good vibes with. Those who probably ended up in the same situation with the missing rope on the slippery cliff beacuse of that. Next time it happens you call me and I come straight from denmark with a piece of rope to help you up that cliff again!Have a nice christmas with good swell and cick ass there

Don't care about the locals - Don't care about the locals on this spot.Even they are very unfriendly, we must surf at this place and enjoy it. This wave isn't their wave !I surf every winter at this place with my brother, even locals are always shouting and being unfriendly. One day we're gonna beat one of them.He will remember that.

- locals removed the rope (only access to the spot) while my buddy and I where the last in water...imagine our surprise and our climbing then to get the rope back on the cliff.....oh by the way, I'm not even a tourist but i'v been living and surfing here for 4 years... so imagine what these crazy locals could do to YOU !
