Beginners' Summer/ Soul Surfers' Auntumn & Spring - Owing to the massive Camping just South of the main entrance towards the beach, Le Porge and the gentle/playful estival swells the spot receives, becomes a beginner's paradise (and conversely an experienced surfers nightmare) in Summer (late June - late August).
Confirmed surfers should rather aim for either fall (September - October/November) or spring (late March - early June) when the surf is either uncrowded or empty (provided you don't aim straight for the main break) and oftentimes pumping. Winters (November - March) are cold and most often windy/closed-out and should rather be spent (much) further South!
p.s.:
With the recently improved road this spot is probably the quickest to access from Bordeaux. So beware of the week-end crowds throughout the year... think "a stroll down the beach" - always worked for me back in the day ;)

in august? - Hey you all!I want to go south of France at finals of august. Is it recommendable and are there enough waves? I´m quite short on time and money so i don´t wanna go there and find myself with a f**king flat sea or poor baby waves.
