English (Traducir este texto en Español): there's a rip on the left that takes you straight out but don't be afraid of the rocks! sometimes theres a lot of small waves right on the beach with loads of little kids so watch out for the lil' learners dudes. the shape of the beach changes every day nearly so its allways a new wave. the big 'uns are out a bit further though and can be hard to get to because even the small waves out here pack a punch, but trust the rip. its safe, really!
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): the beautiful town of clifden. Has tonnes of hotels, b&bs and guest houses or you can camp at the spot with loads of shelter from the dunes.<br />we also have a surf shop (foain tuath) and a proper surf bar (mullarkys) which is part of a hotel (foyles).

keep away.locals only please - the tracks and dunes are getting more and more destroyed every year. the beach its self( which is very small) is over crowded with kids and adults who have no idea how to surf or how to obey the rules of surfing. and swimmers who endanger them selves and others by swimming in the middle of the only (below average but its all we have) surf spot for 50 miles, when there are so many other beautiful beaches in the area.so to all you non locals, show a little bit of respect to our beach and area and to the small group of local surfers who surf here year round in all weather and conditions, and hope to in the future after every one else has destroyed it and moved on.so f..k off

not too bad - i've been there either during the summer and winter, pretty interesting wave to ride cos it's never the same wave, very short and not that pushy during high tide but could be perfect mid tide, some closing out barrels at low tide, also wonderful current which give you a lift behind the breaking. Beware the rocks and your board though and enjoy the clear water, the view and the few dolphins who come over in the early morning. That place is definitively an experienced surfer spot, that's where i got hammered the worst!!
