English (Traducir este texto en Español): Like the Slufter (Maasvlakte) there is a sandbar just before the beach, hence some waves close out right on the sandbar. Go a bit to the right of the main entrance just where the sandbar ends. Behind the sandbar there is a massive current to the right.<br />I've only been there once and the waves where about 1.5-2 meters. Some very steep and hollow, some gently breaking. Lot's of peaks. Not too fast though.<br />I was the only surfer in, along with two swimmers (!!!!!!).

English (Traducir este texto en Español): The island itself is beautifull and pleasant, a lot of the nothern beaches must be surfable as they all face the North Sea. I reckon they pick up all the swell from the North<br />I saw 1 other surfer. For the rest all the beaches are yours. What a relief compared to other very crowded beaches in Holland!

Surf on Texel - I'm living on texel. And what i wan't to tell you is that ou can surf very good near by a little village called: De Koog. When you arive from the ferry you drive on the headway from texel. If you fallow that road to the end you will come in the village De Koog. If you can't find the beach just ask some people. De best time for surfing is in the months from September to Februari. In September is a wetsuit not necessey. But in October you need a wetsuit. The beaches aren't crowed between September and June. But in Juli and August it's not allowed to surf cause a lot of people are swimming. Well i hope that you people come to surf on Texel. Enjoy(sorry if my english isn't that perfect)

Texelaar? - Always wondered about Texel's surf potential. My Dad was born in Hoorn and lived there for some time. I remember visiting Texel and seeing peaks from time to time. Can any of you locals or dutchman tell me when it breaks? Zijn er ook golven op Texel en Ameland? Ik heb in bergen aan zee, maasvlakte en Scheveningen gesurfed. Any info is appreciated.

Surfin Texel - I gave Texel a try last weekend. I stayed at the campside in "de Koog" which is really easy to find. For surf just head over the sanddunes and deepending on the sandbars the peaks will be right there. On Monday I had some decent waves (up to a maximum of 1m) and a lot of peaks to choose from. I would describe the waves as very mellow though. I was the only one in the water. With a 4/3 wetsuit and boots on it was fairly warm. If you are lucky some seals will come by watching what your are doing. Make sure you time your visit right and you will for sure have a fun time (except you expect atlantic conditions).
