English (Traducir este texto en Español): Alderney is one of the smaller, less known Channel islands. Only 12 km from the French mainland, this rocky island is swept by some of the strongest tidal currents in the English channel/la Manche The northern end of the island has several small beaches, and Corblets is a sheltered, North facing horseshoe bay, which picks up swell on big days.
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): A small island community that is accessed by light aircraft, means this spot, like all others on the island, is never going to be overcrowded. The western end of the island is clawed at by powerful currents and is dominate by 100 metre high cliffs. The lower, more sheltered eastern end provides sheltered sandy beaches, which get surf on big storm swells.
General
English (Traducir este texto en Español): Usually a family beach, but if you happen to be around when a big swell is running, and you can find a board, check it out...

Other breaks - Try around Clonque for reef breaks, not for the amateurs though.Longy is suitable for longboards on a very big swell.Falling tides are usually better, as the flood tide tends to flatten the swell. Not a place to go out of your way for unless you like angling and drinking, then its the best palce in Britain for this - enjoy.
