English (Traducir este texto en Español): This area is like a very large beach like watergate except the beach is boulder based and there is a very large undulating wave cut platform which is exposed at low tide. As this is covered the reef will start to work in different ways, there are choice of peaks from the dangerous spitters to the fat dross. The abrupt finish of the platform means the waves come in with power and speed and at high tide there is a boulder closeout to contend with.
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): This is very East Coast in appearance. It is pretty bleak and a weird place to have so close to us here. It is a bitch to find and if you get in trouble you will be doing it by yourself.
General
English (Traducir este texto en Español): Not really a good spot on a SW as most peaks are open to the wind and end up choppy and at times unpredicatble

psycho - Moved to Devon in '84 and took up surfing at westward Ho! Soon got bored with that place so got an OS map and explored. came across greencliff and surfed it a couple of times on my own, but was nervous so told a couple of mates and we had it whenever it worked for the next two years all to ourselves! Then word slowly got out and the last time I surfed it was in 2001 when it was getting too busy. So it was busy before the www got to it. There is no need for hassle, no need for localism, just show each other some respect when you are out there. It takes time to work out just when it works best and which peaks to hit at the right time/swell, but you need to spend a lot of time and energy to get the best days. And when it's really good there, there will be waves elsewhere too.
It's a really good area that used to have a good vibe too. I'm really sad to hear all this bulls..t going on about it. Surfing should be enjoyable. I will come back to Devon one day to surf the cliffs again - I hope I have a better reception than a lot of the folk who have commented on this site!

DJ - Got my car vandalised just checking the spot the other day. It was 8ft in croyde and flat round there. Can't believe I bothered with the 1hr walk there and back to check this out, only to have wax all over my windscreen and doors. Whats to protect? It must only break on super rare swells if any.
