wow... - Surfing has changed!! Popped out to Cayton for a surf on my lunch break and while getting changed a mini-bus rocked up with 12 college type surfers from inland!!! Rent-a-crowd! All learner standard, however, decided to enter the water in front of the main peak, fantastic. Bodies everywhere, drop ins, it was all going on. Rule no 1, when visiting a break NEVER bring a crowd, rule no 2, NEVER enter the water in front of the main peak always to the side and be aware of other surfers and the never drop in. Local surfers will only stand it for so long this is not Cornwall thank god.

busy busy busy - Anybody here miss those bitter February days? Where the swell is huge and you might be sharing the waves with 1 or 2 people.. I love the fact that instead of sitting at home watching the rain fall down, I can get out and enlighten every sense in my body.. To me thats what surfing is about, the mission, the serenity and the hot cuppa afterwards. Leave the kids to have their turn and stick to the less known places. Just enjoy getting wet in the sun... Those big winter swells are soon to return and so will we, wherever you might travel from...

Few People?! - This article says there are 'few people', but ive been up to cayton a few times at the weekend and its always been packed! the surf shop is often out of equipment (you have to wait for someone to bring something back if you need anything), but they are very friendly. Its a good spot, just a bit crowded.

Yea, good times! - I thought all the Surfers at Cayton were lovely and friendly. Good waves too. You should all visit the Surf Shop there, the Guys who work there are awsome really frienldy and happy to help a very girly girl who got in a mess with her fins!

- Dont say that! We dont want no kiwi's moaning down ere in cornwall! Keep em up there. Haha
Por special robin , 13-01-2006
k - Each time I meet a kiwi, their allways yacking on about how good nz is - the people, beaches, water clean blue, fresh food, massive views and so on! - then they like to add how home sick our culture is making them, they moan, moan and moan about the weather, the food, the crowds and now the dirty shit infested sea. Well - next time your stroking out through the silage at Cayton, take a long look at the water, thoes particles of brown shite looking stuff are infact sand/mud - or if you are refering to the landfill site on the beach or the dog do, thats how we east coast surfers like it.Try heading to cornwall.

dont surf anywhere else then. - locals ! yeah right ! so if you call yourself a local at one spot does that mean you will never ever surf anywhere else other than that break ? if we all acted like locals then there would be no surf travel. how many of you so called locals have surfed elsewhere. why do i keep seeing you at other breaks, or do you think you are a local there as well ?
