The bay is not a surfspot!!!!!!!! - i've never seen a surfable wave at Swansea bay or ever seen anyone surf there! And i've lived here for 20years!!! really who put this spot on here????

massive monday - remeber when that big storm came in from the atlantic back in march. swansea bay was one of the best sessions. super fast and heavy long rights perfect afternoon

More observation required - I used to live by the old bridge on oystermouth road and have surfed the bay on many occassions.
Why surf there? No crowds, no driving involved and straight in the shower after a cold winter session.
The wave is best opposite St. Helen's rugby club, an hour AFTER high tide, when it walls up for short but punchy rides as the tide first starts to drop. A strong westerly wind actually improves this spot.
