English (Traducir este texto en Español): Spot relies on big Aleautian swells wrapping around into bay. Actually happens quite a lot in these parts. Gets too cold come November. October best month for surfing here. Usually small, but can have shape and get about head-high+ on huge (40') Aleutian swells. Is very protected. A safe and fun place to surf. Believe it or not, was surfed a few times during WWII.
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): Around the bend is Zeto Point, a good point break in fall and winter, and further north from there are the lagoons, Loran cove, and Loran Point... all have surfable waves during a strong swell.

City Beach details Adak - City Beach does get quality waves, but takes a bit of swell to actually break. That being said, the bars start showing good form at only 1 foot, so it happens more than you'd think. Also it is true that there are many surfing areas possible along this long and curvy beach. Down by the old car and metals landfill promontory on the west side, before Kuluk Bay proper, there can be good sandbars. My only other comment on surfing in Adak is some of the frontier spots may be sharky. Yes we get great whites an other very large sharks here, and while it is not often documented, believe me, they're here in full force. They prfer the rocky, reefy, craggy and deeper water areas. That being said, they seem to be well fed by 500 lb halibut and ubiquitous gangs of seals. Your real danger is the ocean itself. This is an extremly dangerous zone to be surfing, to put it mildly. Only City Beach is relatively safe to enter teh water. But true, you can't beat the scenery and total absence of crowds, while for the Aluetians, access is amazingly easy. Many other, better surf and dive spots abound in the Aleutains, but I won't give them away here. You can start at Dutch Harbor with Ariport Rights and their long left spit in winter, but beware of feeding seabirds that will poke your eyes out. Just stay clear of them an they won't bother you. This is not a joke.

Got snowy half pipes? - Actually I was hoping that during smaller surf I could use my snowboard like a skimboard in the shorebreak; does that work? Are all Alaskan girls off-limits to travelling surf/snowboarders? When's the best time to catch Indian summer weather conditions?

Best time - I really like traveling where most surfers dont think about going to. I am really interested in going to alaska. When is the best time to go are the waves consistant year round?
