 Información adicional

Beautiful clean beach. Plenty of parking, except on holiday weekends. Current and rips can be brutal on big tides, especially late in an ebb or flood tide when Tomales bay is generating huge volumes of water movement. Best to catch it on a neep tide with offshore winds and head-high plus.

Ballin. It's been a few years since great sandbar shape could lead to rides connecting outside Shark Pit and inside Dillon, but the right swell, wind, and tide can occasionally make this place truly epic (see photos).

General

Good from 7-8 AM until 11AM on most days before westerly winds kick in. Little surf is often clean but powerless. Best waves from 4.5-6ft (1.5m-2m)

Sharks are waiting 4 U! - Why do people say it's not sharky when numerous people have been bit there? People have been bit on the outside bar, people have been bit on the inside bar, people have been bumped, people have been circled, people have been rushed and people have been chased all the way to the beach by large sharks here year after year. Many people have also been bit diving the outside point. 7 or 8 sharks over 10 feet have been tagged by the marine lab and these sharks have been found to be PERMANENT residents of the this area! Any doubts about this can be answered by a simple letter to the Bodega Bay Marin Lab asking about sharks in this area. There have been 4 attacks within 20 miles of this beach in the last 8 years and with a surf population no where near the size of Santa Cruz or Davenport that makes this are WAY MORE DANGEROUS! Don't listen to people trying to sell parking spaces, don't listen to the hype created by surfers, listen to your common sense and don't risk your life for a few waves!

Getting ridiculous... - You guys don't realize but my grandfather was the man who practically saved the day during your guys 1996 scare... Dillon has had NOTHING compared to other places. Just paranoid Tomales aggros gettin pissy at other surfers, but its their parking money that keeps your break open. Stop whining about the Whitey, Tomales Bay full of them, sure. But not more than Davenport, North Cruz, SF, Bolinas, Pt. Reyes...etc...

Stop shushing people away. Sharks don't scare anyone like that anymore. Its not a excuse. If you want to keep people away step it up with your amazing surfing. Show them your skill, make them afraid to surf with such amazing dudes. Stop this ridiculous shit. You're acting like little girls

Common sense - So obviously sharks most likely wont eat another shark...that is why i shaped this sweet new board like a shark. The standard surfboard shape, aka seal shape, just makese no sense to me. Let me tell you though, now that i have a board shaped like a shark i have sooooo much confidence in a future for my life when i paddle all the way out there, unlike you seal shaped surfboard riders... f-n kooks
