One of the guys in recovery in the Oceanside area would rent an apartment right on the Strand, very close to Tyson street.It became a very popular spot to many of us in recovery.We hung out and watched the always fascinating daily parade on the strand, surfed together, held metings and parties and had a lot of fun, and we kind of owned the spot because a lot of the guys were new in recovery and real scary-looking to outsiders, so we were left alone. Cool.

Consistent Break - I've been surfing this Oceanside break from May 2006 til now (Aug 2006), and I have to say that it's a pretty consistent and steep break. With the right board, you can catch waves here almost all year round. The best peaks extend from lifeguard tower #5 to just south of tower #7.
