English (Traducir este texto en Español): St. Andrews has two different break spots. The first is right along the west jetty. On good days it is a nice outside that can carry almost all the way to the beach. The inside can be very fun and hollow with some decent coverage, just beware of the jetties. The second break is located just down from the jetties. It has a nice outside and inside and can support longboarders and shorties. On good days there will be a long outside that is perfect for longboarders. During hurricane swells the park is very crowded, but the pack is dispersed due to the different spots. Also, the Amazons or the "Pass" can be found at the park which can help in crowd control.
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): The vibe at the park can be very mellow during normal conditions but can get frenzied when the swells come in. Many right coasters make the trip across and a majority of the locals are very hospitable in and out of the water, but there are a few that can be very territorial. Also, during the summer the park is flooded with tourists who love to stand and watch while remaining right in the pit.
General
English (Traducir este texto en Español): The park is a great spot for beginners to advanced. It is the most consistent spot in the PCB area and can produce some of the cleanest lines during swells.

Katrina - I have some pictures of randoms surfers a couple days before Katrina. If you were out and want to see them hit me up. They're okay pics, but whatever. The waves were real nice considering the spot. Yeah, but I think St. Andrews is an all around cool place. If you surf big shit all the time and that's all you want.....don't come here. It's a mellow ride, but when the time is right it can get big.

Katrina - Hey. I'm a transplanted surfer from San Diego, who grew up surfing Sunset Cliffs with many many great SD surfers. I just wanted to say that on the Saturday prior to Katrina, I got waves that rivaled Black's Beach, or La Jolla Shores. I'm hoping that Rita gives just as good.Though honestly, I do have some feelings of guilt after realizing what storms like Rita and Katrina do to those in their path. And, that was not the first time that I'd gotten good waves there. Not bad for the Gulf of Mexico.
