English (Traducir este texto en Español): Breaks kind of like Lowers. When the swell is pumping outta the South from a hurricane its insane. Does see some wrap around in the winter months and will break on a NNW. Keep your eyes open for tiger sharks(rare). Show respect especially when Mike Stewart and Spencer Skipper are out.
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): The vibe is awesome. Doesn't matter what you are riding as long as you are having fun and showing respect. The locals are laid back and usually kick down some waves to the haole's.
General
English (Traducir este texto en Español): A really fun wave to surf when the west side is blown out. Good people and good spearfishing on flat days.

Like waves? - Honoli'i is a beautiful spot, no doubt about that. But if you want to catch some waves, think twice about Honoli'i. The wave is very soft, hard to catch and irregular when breaking. Now the local scene... I get tired of hearing "respect the locals", let's just show respect for everyone, we all know that "haole" is a modern racist term for a white person....let's stop using it. I have witnessed plenty of locals treating people with respect here, however, there is a good population of wave hogs here. The sentiment I get from this place is that a select crowd of locals guard this gutless wave like it was Pipeline. Lighten up guardians of Honoli'i, aloha spirit is something you practice, not just talk about. Share some waves, and remember that "respect" is a two way street.

good vibes - only place that was breaking when on the big Island. I had a good time, the local boys/girls rip and show love as long as you show respect.

I live here - I say Honolii is the right on. If you drop in .....yeah you will get schooled . If you do it by accident then say sorry man and do not do it again . I have lived here all my life and have been down at Honolii for the last 4 months , everyday . I smile alot , I do not drop in and I charge when it is my wave . But the Aloha here is alive and if you are a chirpper and not apprecitaing the beauty of this place ......move to another spot . P.S. Locally grown Hoale :)
