Cops Ticketing!! - I always thought is was an urban legend, but alas - it is true. I surf the left at PP's all the time in the morning for a dawn patrol but about a week ago, I saw a bad thing. First, let me start with the fat guy in the mini-van. He is a guard that won't let you in the lot unless you pay him off ($5) or give him pot or let him look at your buddies weenie. I don't recommend the last one so bring $5 with you. Anyhow, back to the warning. So the waves were about 7 foot to 10 foot on the faces and everyone is getting without an issue. Bodyboarders, Longboarders and Shortboarders going left and all the bodysurfers going right. No issue. Suddenly, all these cops show up with donut crumbs and coffee stains on thier blue shirts and a who bunch of overweight guys from DNR (wardens I guess). I would estimate 10 of them along with two uniformed cops. And a police boat. They call folks in from the lineup if they don't paddle out (around the green marker way on outside) or paddle in correctly. They got about 10 surfers total. Buttons got away! The rest were less savy and got busted and got a ticket. The only person happy was some fag that bodysurfs (looks just like the guy from My Favorite Martian series by the way) there daily and narks off surfers to get his jollies. Wish he'd take viagra and discover girls. Has a grey soul tab / goatee by the way. Brings all kinds of kit out with him. The moral of the story is move to flies down the way and avoid this spot. Ain't that good anyhow!

one love - I had been out of the water for 7 months (moved from Guam) and had a shoulder injury as well. I probably looked like a kook out there but I did catch a few waves and left with a great feeling despite the poor performance. I noticed that one thing stays true on most Islands.... The locals I met in the water were great guys and had alot of stoke. Very cool and all about having a good time, even the body surfers. Except the token asshole "white guy" that feels the need to explain the rules to the visiting "white guy". I said, "ok, and complied" as to not wear my welcome out, but I did notice a few local guys shaking their heads and one said to me "You would think he owned this place" and "that guys always acting like that". Not to worry, just be respectful and deal with the one asshole. If you have surfed in SoCal, same/same, always the old grumpy guy in the water. Hope he gets a staph infection and disappears. Just kidding.

idiots! - PP is a great place to chillax. Body surf, surf, BB, whatevas. #1 rule- B.surfers going right, Boarders GO LEFT! Get some idiots droppin' right when even just one B.surfa is there which is just killing it for the rest of the boarders & got the whole deal of ticketing by DLR?! Rarely ever do any B.surfa goes Left, sparingly! So boarders, drop the LEFTS! This is the BIGG issue of concern. Us surfas love the place, but hey, if you the guyz cannot respect the B.Surfas in the water doing that or have an understanding in the water, seriously, you messin' up the ethics for the rest of us. And what to do if there's NO B.surfas in the water? Can us boarders then taste the RIGHTS? Come on, if can't, the waves going 2 waste! Thoughts?
