English (Traducir este texto en Español): About a quarter mile past Sunset Beach on Kam Highway going towards Haleiwa, you will spot a big Indian Head Tiki carved out of wood on the left (huge, 2 story monster with colorful beach towels and sarrongs flapping below it). Turn into the small street on the right across from the statue. Then take a quick left and your on the 'back road.' Go down to the second public right of way between the houses and you have found PUPUKEA. Lock you car and bring everything you want to keep down to the beach with you. Car plunging is rife down here in the winter months. DistanciaCoja un coche LlegadaAcceso directo (< 5min) ¿Fácil de encontrar?Fácil de encontrar ¿Acceso publico?Acceso publico Acceso especialNo sé |

English (Traducir este texto en Español): This is a great spot in the spring and fall. During those months, the beginner to intermediate surfer will find fun surf conditions with a mostly sand bottom. 2 to 3 feet (Hawaiian Style) is a good size. For the more advanced, Pupukea provides a world class surf spot on the North SHore without too much attitude/bad vibes. 3 to 5 feet is all time. 4 to 6 feet and you will have an EPIC session here. Over 6 feet and you will fall in love... CHECK IT OUT

English (Traducir este texto en Español): Good spot for all types of surfers from beginner to expert I have personally surfed out at Pupukea with Derek and Micheal Ho, Andy Irons, Kalani Robb, and many many other pro surfers and the vibe is always good. Plenty of waves makes it better.

pupukea continued... - what a wave. surfed here this april and what a blast it was. perfect 2-4' sets that were so consistent. rolling in one after another. a lot of great local talent out here but you'll get your waves. show aloha and your gonna get aloha. don't miss out on this.

hold downs - I surfed pupes on a 4-6 ft. day. Non stop waves, no sets, just wave after wave. real weird day. Anyways, got held down on first wave and as soon as I got up, another wave held me down to the bottom. This went on for 9 waves. I will never under estimate the North shore. I've surfed bigger, but never as gnarly as this day.Always considered Pupakea a safe place. It was an outer sand bar day. Very strange conditions.

great place to be - started surfing the break in 1973...but the greatest time i had there was a morning in 1975....glass like mirror...maybe 2ft fun waves and crystal clear....what a reality check..no fear just clear as glass and incedible view throught the wave...once in a lifetime experience.
