English (Traducir este texto en Español): Surfing isn't allowed during the day 10am-5pm. Officially it's from May 15 -Oct 1 ... so you have to get there early in the morning or after 5pm. But on cool or rainy days you can usually surf all day with no problem. Great beach to visit from out of town. Other good spots in the area are Old Orchard Beach and Scarborough Beach

bummed out - I am gonna risk sounding like a real dick saying this but I gotta get it off my chest. I was really bummed out last time I surfed here and it because a boatload of my countrymen were acting like kooks. I am from Canada and have been surfing for 12+years,living in San Diego, Central America, Mexico, Europe etc.
I was out on a pretty decent day and all the locals were having fun and so was I until about four carloads of Canadians showed up. They were loud and obnoxious, surfing like total kooks and were jockeying all through the lineup like they were in a contest. This shit was seriously embarrassing. Up until then I had been having a friendly conversation with some of the locals and trading waves. On my way out I wanted to hide my license plate cause I was so embarrassed. I don't blame the locals if they get burned out on tourists, I was seriously burned out myself. Lame.
