10 miles south of Westport on Hwy 105, past Grayland on OLD Highway 105 (look for sign) , the northern section. This is Cape Shoalwater. The old highway has been eroded away, and now Does not go through. If you come to a marshland/water viewpoint, you have driven too far. Turn around and take the 2nd left. Meander down this Old Hwy 105 road past the 1st dead end, 100-200 yds, then take the first left and park at the dead end sign. You are there.

 Información adicional

You will know if the local "laaadie" killers have been there if you see empty chew spit cans of Budweiser strewn about. They have no concern for the planet, or fellow surfers. The vehicle you can thank for carrying thier druknen white trash to this spot is a mid-80's beige pickup with a similar colored camper, license plate Wash. A14048J. Wonderful chaps...

The surfing, now, is a different matter. When the jetty at Westport is closed out, don't even bother with the groins-this is where you go. It deliveres steep and hollow right barrells. You can't see it from the highway, so nobody goes there. Heavy tidal and river current from Willapa bay, so pay attention. The takeoff is basically in front of the little blue house. Most surfers will ride the sections right a couple times, then get out of the water and run up the beach to the takeoff. Be aware of the snags/fallen trees in the water. The parking area provides for perfect viewing/photos. Make sure you thank the guys in the camper for the directions.

Ambiente

The wave itself is nothing short of gorgeous. The land is eroding considerably each season. So be ready for change.

You have to see it to believe it. It reminds me briefly of Rincon, but a much shorter ride. Wash-afornia aggros and all...

Scary - I heard that if you surfed here you could get eaten by a shark!? And if you fall you get a rusty pole in the gut! And fuck, if you paddle out on a minus tide a hole will open up and swallow you up!

Place is class. Just have to get it wired.

It's called "Pittles" - I'm a local who was born and bred surfing this area. First I'd like to say that tourists leave as much trash on the beach as the local highshchool kids. (those would be the budweiser and chew can culprits). The area that is described above is called "Pittles" and since the coastal erosion has taken down a bunch of houses recently it is EXTREMELY unsafe to surf. A better area (but not as good unforunately) is up the coast a little ways down Warrenton-Cannery road. The Minute Market there marks the beach access. Alternatively, a new surf spot has been created if you head south towards Tokeland. The tourist-ridden lookout sports a new jetty (a half-assed effort to slow down the erosion that was abandoned midway due to lack of funds.. costing the city and state thousands and doing absolutely nothing for the people who lose their homes) and the north side of it is surfable.. kinda. Pittles still has a great break, but when it comes down to dealing with asses at the Jetty in Westport and getting skewered by a water pipe ... I guess it's up to you.

- "Why do people keep posting the same spot with different names?" they dont know "I've been here and I can't imagine surfing here. There is so much crap in the water from the eroding shoreline that it seems very dangerous to me. It would not take much to hit some of the houses that have falling into the surf." yes i agree, surf it at low to rising tide."Aside from that the wave looks poor, at least on the day I was there."one day i was ther and it looked crappy too, another it looked good but small. You just gotta hit it right.
