Local surfers are people who work in the island’s hotels, rent boats, guide tourist, etc... Therefore, you will probably have already met some of the local surfers by the time you get into the water.

The bottom of Cacimba do Padre as of most other spots in the island is formed by flat rocks covered by sand. Northern swells start to break in the island by November. However, it is during February and March that waves get into their best formation, as the waves have excavated the sand from the bottom.
