English (Traducir este texto en Español): The longest wave in the island. Its considered the brazilian jefreys bay. That's way locals call it C-Bay (Capeche's Bay). Absolutely epic with the right conditions. You can ride more than 5 barrels in the same wave. More than 1 minute ride when really perfect.
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): When it works, you won't have time to wavecheck other spots. All Florianópolis's surfers are there.
General
English (Traducir este texto en Español): You can take the ride of your life. But don't drop on in locals or they can make you remember Campeche session forever.

Campeche - I just left the island and surfed Campeche twice. First day there was 1 other guy only and he got his waves and I got mine. Second day I surfed it solo. Loads of long rights walling up all the way down the beach 100m past the restaurants. Locals were fine, I think the water was too cold for them actually as they only watched from the beach. We just had to cut a deal with the fishermen that if the Tainha (sea mullet) start running we would get out. That didn't happen so I had hassle free sessions. Brazilians will tell you stories of grandeur about violence and tough locals but they are full of shit. I have been surfing Floripa since 1997 and never had dramas. I am a Dee Why local and have experienced more tension at North Narrabeen than here anytime. The Brazilians surf like they drive and live life, without regard or caution. They will drop in on you (and eachother) in a moment so avoid the busy breaks like Joaquina and Mole or anywhere for that matter where there are people watching from the beach. They love surfing the spots where they can be seen and then later slip into their budgie smugglers and play beach tennis. Anyhow I rate Campeche, surf it and charge hard!!
