English (Traducir este texto en Español): Los Lobos is for experienced surfers. The entry to the break as you will figure out requires perfect timing otherwise you could be bashed against some serious rocks. A very consistent spot, often too bit. Not an easy wave to ride, lots of water moving, heavy currents and cold water. 3 distinct sections make up the point with the inside being the most hollow and most fickle. North winds blow it out. Reliable spot.
Ambiente
English (Traducir este texto en Español): A beautiful area, like northern California. Pine trees, cold waters, lots of marine birds and sea lions. Lobos can be a frustrating wave. Look at photos of the spot and you will see it is a walled up mass of water...not often tubey usually bit rippable walls.

COLD WATER HEAVEN The best and most uncrowded waves you will ever find in the south just bring a wetsuit - Just did a van trip through the entire coast of Chile and scored the waves of my life down in the south.
Buchupureo and all the points like Rinconada,Pullay,Tregaulemu friggen blew my mind...absolutely ridiculous amount of empty left sand bottom point breaks for like a 100km stretch and offshore all day in the southerly trade winds it was like surfing empty Indo in the 70's just with cold water! Amazing nature down there also.
Punta de lobos was pretty sick too.Looooong lefts and a fun town to hang out in but in the south was where all the best setups were.
Iquique was also sick...Intendencia OMG one of the heaviest lefts I've ever surfed but still the North had nothing on the south in my opinion

BETTER TIME SOUTH - punta de lobos is the gringo hotspot. its famous because of the XXL event. if you want better waves with less people, the south of chile is the spot. Buchupureo, Pullay, Trigalemu, Rinconada, to name a few. All within a few km.
Come enjoy respect the nature, respect me and my locals and enjoy the perfect waves!

- I got this on a 2 meter, 12 second, 230 degrees swell (acording to windswell) and it was a lot of fun. I was in for two hours from low to low-mid tide, there was a decent sized crew on it, but size a lot of waves to go around. A lot of power for a two meter swell. I spent a month in Peru (Lobitos, Pacasmayo, Punta Hermosa), and this has a lot more power for the size, but not so long or perfect. Anyone know what this is like on a typical 1-1.5 meter swell? I live in Santiago and wondering if it is worth the effort when it is smaller....
